What's happening @SlemishCollege
We’ve explored how Irish is all around us in the names of the places we live, and we’ve learned a few greetings and useful phrases for introducing ourselves — and even for ordering a cúpan tae in the Gaeltacht.
Go raibh maith agat and maith sibh to everyone who has taken part so far and picked up a cúpla focal (a few words).
Our final session will take place on Monday during the Year 10 and Year 11 lunch break. All welcome!

It’s about…the memories of huddling under the blanket, while a cold, icy wind blows on an elevated pitch; it’s about meeting new people and making them laugh; it’s about a superstar Slemish soccer player saying tongue in cheek, ‘Deep down miss, I do enjoy GAA football!’ It’s about watching the girls learning new skills, communicating and naturally taking on leadership roles.
And as well as all that, it’s the fun on the bus, whether we win, lose or draw, the music, singing and maybe a quick stop at the shop before heading back into school. A fab day out with a fab group of girls!
